She is tired of all discussions and projects that she thinks is not really worth her time. She basically thinks it is unimportant for her future.

“Ugh, finally home at last,” she groaned as she opened her laptop full of websites searching for what to do in summer. Yesha clicked the exit button for each one of them and opened her dummy Twitter account. In the account is full of her thoughts and opinions that she daily opens. Basically, her life was inside it.

“Hmm, what do I feel right now,” she said as she tried to reflect on the things that happened to her. Suddenly, she reminisced what happened to her awhile ago. A great speaker went to her school as a program for the last day before summer break. She closed her eyes as she tried to go back on what had happened.

“Do you guys have any plans for summer?” the speaker asked in excitement. The word yes was once again said in unison. On the other hand, Yesha was left with the feeling of her mouth getting sticked by glue or even a glue gun because of being unable to respond to the question that was asked.

She opened her eyes wide as she hits the bed, wanting to delete the memory. Moreover, she started typing. Trying to put her emotions to words was a skill she continues to practice everyday. “If I’m not ordinary and also not extra-ordinary. What am I then?” She typed pressing the keyboard in the laptop.

“Yesha! Go down now that food is served.” Exclaimed by her sister in a loud voice.

“Okay, okay! Can you try to chill?” Yesha answered as she gigled. She slipped in her slippers and closed her laptop to go down and eat. She was actually starving since then.

“Gelatin, what’s our plan for summer vacation?” She asked her sister as she sat down to eat.

“Summer? What’s that? Is that a food or a drink?” Gelatin jokingly answered Yesha’s question.

“Ughhh! I’m serious. Why did we never have plans for summer” Yesha complained.

“Come on, Yesha. You know that our plans for summer is always going to different places”

“Places? What do you mean. We do nothing for summer.” Yesha answered with a confused tone.

“We go to the bathroom, to our room, to our kitchen, of course” Gelatin said as she laughed in her chair with her mouth wide open.

Yesha wanted to laugh but the level of her anger surpassed the level of how good the joke was. She quickly finished eating and went up again leaving her sister confused of how she’s reacting to her jokes.

“Is Yesha on her period?” She asked her self, looking for a reason.

“Or maybe on her coma,” she laughed once again on her joke that only herself understands.

After arriving in her room she laid down and open her laptop again. She saw that her tweet was not yet uploaded since she forgot to press “enter.” She willingly pressed the enter button and finally it was uploaded.

Afterwards, she opened her Youtube and watched some of her favourite vloggers and some of the music videos of her favourite bands. She slowly fell asleep beside her laptop and positioned herself in a comfortable position, thinking that there won’t be alarms and disturbance tomorrow morning.

It was 9:00 in the morning when she heard so much beeps that woke her up.

“Ugh, I thought I didn’t set an alarm today,” trying hard to open her eyes. When she looked at her laptop, she was surprised by the fact that what woke her up wasn’t an alarm rather it was continues notification for her Twitter account. She checked it and saw that thousands of people had liked her tweet. She quickly blinked 2 times to see if it was real and it was. She blinked another 3 times to see if it was real like real as in the truth and it was real. She ran to Gelatin and passed on how famous she is now. Forgetting the fact that even her sister does not know that she owns the account. Her sister’s face was undescribable. She was so surprised that Yesha owns the account since Gelatin, herself was a fan on how good and relatable the tweets were. Many people was really curious of who owns the account that indeed made them reflect on themselves.

Yesha was surprised by how much people were dying to know who she was. She thought of revealing who she was but she also thought of being just a hidden person who continues to tweet about her life. She actually didn’t plan on making this happen. Her initial intention was just to let out how she felt everyday by trying to convert her feeling into letter. She didn’t know that those letters would be actually converted into feeling by others. Now, she realized her summer wouldn’t be actually bad at all. She realized how memorable of a summer it is. She can finally share an experience to her classmates for this summer. An experience wherein she have realized the power of words to other people.

With this, she answered the question to her tweet. If she is not ordinary or extra-ordinary, then she is Yesha.

This short story was written during the Young Authors Competition on April 13, 2019 held at UEC Batangas City.

“I will miss you guys so, so much” it was a sentence that echoed inside her head everytime she would see group of people in the corridor.
