Lim Zheng Xuan Xavier
My name is Lim Zheng Xuan Xavier and I am 13 years old. I am currently studying in Catholic High School, Singapore. I have a strong passion for writing, especially for adventure and mystery stories. I wrote the story “Friend or Foe” from June to July this year, aged 13.
This competition by the Young Author Scheme had provided me with an avenue to express my passion for writing stories, and allow me to destress in what was a hectic post-Circuit Breaker school reopening. It allowed my creative juices to flow freely. My love for writing began when I started reading the Percy Jackson series in Primary Four. The way the author Rick Riordan blended his powerful language, dry wit and amazing ideas together made me awestruck, and from then on I quested to write good stories and try my hand at being an author.

Captain Joe Stevens was imprisoned in the enemy nation Ark after being captured during a war. There, he was brainwashed to be a spy for Ark. He returned to homeland Razor after the war ended and supplied information on Razor to an Ark contact, Tommy. He was eventually discovered and was cured by a psychic, Aurora.
With the information, Ark launched a missile attack on Razor but Joe stopped it by hacking the missile systems. Tommy fled Ark and came to Razor, where he was discovered by Joe. Joe, realizing Tommy was brainwashed, brought him to Aurora to be cured.
