Jaiyanth Bilahari Babu
Jaiyanth Bilahari Babu, 9, is a student of ACS Primary (Barker), an avid reader, he loves to play video games (but is careful to limit his screentime, of course). He was 8 when he wrote ‘Into The Game’ and enjoys creating imaginative stories, which he shares with his family.
I have really enjoyed taking part in the Young Author Awards competition. I am usually coming up with crazy fantasy stories at home, to make my family members laugh. This Awards competition has now let me share such a story with everyone – hopefully people enjoy reading it as much as I have enjoyed writing it. I think it’s really great that the Young Author Scheme is there to help young authors become better writers and to also achieve dreams of publication. I also discovered the Young Author newsletters ‘SINFUL’, which were very fun and interesting to read. Thank you!

Just then, I spotted a small little shop that I had never seen before in the mall. It had a weird signboard, ‘Mr Mung-goo’s Mysterious Toys for Marvellous Minds’. “OK, can’t hurt to go in and have a look around” I thought. Little does Conner, a precocious eight-year-old mobile phone gamer, realize that the world as he knows it is going to be turned dangerously upside down. And all this on his birthday! His shy best friend and his annoying big sister will soon be counting on him to save them, or they will all be lost forever.
