Chen Ruilin
I am a 12-year-old, who really likes writing — be it a composition in class to some other creative writing such as this story. Being an avid fan of crime writers such as Agatha Christie and Arthur Conan Doyle provided me with the inspiration for this mystery. In fact, some scenes and details are directly inspired by them! In my free time, I like to read and play video games.
The Young Author Scheme is a wonderful programme, providing an avenue for children and teenagers alike to unleash their inner author and exercise their creativity. For me, I have always loved writing, but I never really got a chance to write a whole short story. When I first joined the Young Author Scheme, I was initially sceptical but then quickly grew to love it. I received step-by-step guidance, learnt many writing skills, and made new friends along the way! It has reinforced my passion for writing and I am now equipped with the skills to write recreationally!
