Biography
Celiste Lim
My name is Celiste Lim Yan Mei and I am a student of Temenggong Ibrahim Girls’ School. I wrote Between the Lines of Black and White earlier this year at the age of 17. It is a story born from my fascination with the polar nature of the two colours, and it’s my tribute to the noble medical frontliners of this pandemic.
I am very grateful to have joined The Young Author Scheme. It’s a great programme where young writers like me can learn more about the process of writing and hone their skills. It is also an interesting platform where writers can learn from each other and improve. As someone who is often daunted by the amount of commitment one must have when writing, and afraid that I wouldn’t be able to express the ideas in mind with a well-written story, this programme has helped in building my confidence to take the first step. The overall experience was engaging and has helped reignite my passion towards writing
