Ever since I was young, I’ve always loved telling stories. Whether it’s through writing or drawing, shaping people’s imaginations like waving a magic wand around makes me feel empowered. Being a passionate advocate for mental health awareness in young children, it’s no surprise that such topics are commonly brought up in my works. My goal is to initiate important conversations and discourse regarding such matters, in hopes that young people will validate their feelings more; an important step in processing complex emotions in order to maintain mental health and wellbeing.
The Young Author Scheme had allowed me to make enhancements to my writing without actually changing my writing style and direction. I’ve also developed a deeper appreciation for various fictional pieces; analysing them from cover to cover in order to learn and understand new things with each sentence that follows. Not only do I now write to my heart’s content, but I’m also unapologetic with my works. I jot down my personal feelings and adventures and turn them into masterpieces. The Young Author Scheme made me fall in love with writing, and it feels as though my writing loves me back.
