Biography
Yumnah binti Muhammad
My name is Yumnah binti Muhammad, and I am a student of St. John’s International School. Earlier this year at age 16, I had written a story entitled “Bright Moon of Myeongwol,” a tale which explores themes of self-empowerment, Asian values and the discovery of one’s abilities through life’s journey.
The Young Author Scheme has been a great program in which I was able to approach my writing from different angles and explore different types of genres. The creative freedom present enabled us as young writers to put forth our most authentic work forward and become part of a larger platform, where our abilities can be nurtured and enrichened. The overall experience was very engaging, as it has allowed me to propel my interests forward; I have been able to grasp onto diverse opportunities and maximize my ability to reconnect with my passion for writing amidst a busy life.
