Biography
Celine Kirsten Mercado
I am Celine Kirsten, 11, a fifth grader from Lyndale Academy, Pampanga, Philippines. I have a mind for Math and a heart for writing. I love to read and ever since I am fascinated with Roald Dahl and JK Rowlings books. Although I love to write fantasy and adventure stories, the Covid-19 pandemic inspires me to write a heartwarmer story, Wrong Number, about courage and hope.
My interest in writing grew when I was 7 years old. I dreamt of creating characters of my own, in my own imaginative world.
Joining the Young Author Scheme has opened doors for me to unleash the “young author” within me. YAS was able to bring out more the creativity in me and it enhances the confidence in me that age does not matter when it comes to writing. Most importantly, YAS has allowed me to do what I love to do—and that is writing. It is every bookworms’ dream to write a book of their own, and YAS had made this come true. I hope through my writings, I can use words to inspire, to make an influence, and to make a difference.
