Nicole Shekinah
My name is Nicole Shekinah and I’m twelve years old. I study at Wesley Methodist School Ipoh (International) in Malaysia. Timerift -my story- was written when I was twelve and is one of my most favourite pieces of work. It’s a thrilling story that is sure to keep you hooked on.
I joined an online Young Author Workshop that took place during the tragedious Covid-19 lockdown. This workshop was enjoyable and exciting with many fun activities and group challenges. I’ve always taken pleasure in writing and love sitting down picking up a pen and scribbling away. It didn’t really matter if the story made sense or had any continuation, these moments were kind of like writing a scene for a playscript. Many of the skills I picked up were from school or even reading actual books. Writing Timerift may have been a rollercoaster ride combined with hours typing on the computer. Nevertheless, writing will always be that little place where you sit down and get lost in a world of your own.
