Charlize Low
Hi, I am Charlize, a shortlisted candidate for the Young Authors Award in 2016. I was interested about this Young Author Scheme when I was in Primary 4. Therefore, I chose to try out for it when I was Primary 5. I never expected to be shortlisted. When I searched Young Author Scheme, I came across Janus Education. Then I saw the online form that I can use to sign up for the competition. That’s why I am typing this blurb now.
Why do I love writing? I get inspired by the books that I read. Reading a book gives the reader an impression of the author. Firstly, I love writing as when I write, I will just keep writing, without thinking about other things. I will feel that I have gone into my own world. Secondly, I want to let others read my book and like it, and also let them learn something from my writing style.
Thirdly, I love writing as I love reading since I was young. When I read, I will be engrossed in the words and phrases that the author used. I will also take note of beautiful writing styles and try to use them in my essay. That’s why I want to write, and inspire more people to be authors, whether it is in writing autobiographies, fiction, non-fiction or any other genre.
