Sharanya Kabilan
My name is Sharanya, I am 16 years old. I have a pretty easy-going and fun personality. My hobbies are reading, writing, playing badminton and cycling. I am an avid fan of books with genres such as sci-fi and thrillers. The inspiration for my story stemmed from my keen fascination with the riveting lives of people who live in the slums and their constant struggle to stay afloat and survive the harshness of poverty.
I’m happy to be shortlisted in the Asia Young Author Award. The workshop and competitiontakes a unique approach towards writing as it does not only provide aspiring young writers with an opportunity to flaunt their literary skills but presents them with resources and support to reach greater heights in this field at a global stage. It embolsters the budding crop of writers to be brazen and to let their imagination run unbridled, whilst also educating and honing their craft, perfecting it in every way.
