Timothy Low was a 12 year old student attending Primary 6 in Anglo-Chinese School (Primary). He enjoys reading and playing squash. He also plays the violin and piano in his free time. His favourite authors are J.K. Rowling, Larry Gonick and Arthur Conan Doyle. “A Father’s Sacrifice” is his first attempt in writing a short story. When I first signed up for the Young Author’s scheme, I felt apprehensive and uncertain. Although I had a natural love for writing, I have never written a story of such importance before. This program helped me, for the first time, to sit down and concentrate on writing a single story. After I completed this story, with the guidance of my teachers and parents, I was very excited for others to read it. Finishing this story gave me a strong sense of achievement, motivating me to continue writing, and strengthening my love for it.
