My name is Tarita Kaur Dadwall and I am 12 years old this year. I am studying in Raffles Girls’ Primary School and I was 11 years old when I wrote my story – The Clock Maker. I love to read a wide variety of books and writing is my form of releasing stress. Besides that, I play the piano and guitar and fence every week. The Young Author’s Scheme is fantabulous scheme to encourage young avid readers to write and explore unknown boundaries. Writing takes me across unknown spheres of imagination and soothes me after a hard day of school. I heard about the Young Author’s Scheme when I was in Primary 3 and I have been writing ever since. I am grateful to Ms Catherine Khoo and her team for the undaunted work and time they have put into, into developing astute writers. They have encouraged me to write year after year, neither for the prize nor recognition, but simply for the joy of and penning down my ‘string’ of unimaginable thoughts – which spin into a ‘yarn’ of a story.
