My name is Ryan Gerard Matthieu B. Menchate. I’m a 13-year-old Grade 10 student from PAREF Northfield School and the author of A Prodigy Named Wade. I’m quite imaginative and creative, and love music. I’m a trainee at the Manila Symphony Junior Orchestra and a member of Mensa Philippines.

I remember being an avid reader and storyteller since my toddler years. I’ve always used my imagination to create stories in my mind. But I was 6 when I made my first written story, and from thereon writing short stories have become a hobby for me.

Having a great idea for a story is not enough, though. That’s why I’m so grateful to have been part of The Young Author Scheme where I learned the whole creative process of writing a book. With it, my dream of becoming a published author has become a reality much sooner.
