Hey! I’m Nicholas Tan, author of Doodle. I wrote this when I was still in Sec 2, and it’s been about 4 years since then. Really brings back memories! I’ve always been more of an artist than an author (although both come hand in hand: someone has to design the book covers!) and since then I’ve drawn and written casually, while keeping up with school (to a certain extent). I hope to become an animator someday, where I can make my stories and drawing come to life on the screen. While I’m no ‘master’, I’d like to give some advice for any starting artists/authors out there: In Singapore, school life is hectic, and at times you may be forced to stop doing what you love temporarily. It could be money, your parents or upcoming exams. But if you’re a creative person, regardless of what kinds of restrictions you’re given, you’re going to be creative. In life there will always be another thing hindering you from doing what you love. Anyone who really wants it, or is really creative, will find a way to overcome these obstacles. Never let your passion die! Anyways, that’s all from me. Enjoy Doodle!
