Joshua James is a ten-year old boy studying at SJKC Kuen Cheng 2, Kuala Lumpur. He wrote Ten Forty Three specifically to enter the Asia Young Author Awards after being shortlisted following the Malaysia Young Author Awards. Unable to travel to Sabah to attend his great-grandmother’s funeral in February 2021, Joshua gave her a leading role in his story, Ten Forty Three.
