Born in the year 2005, I write by Goh Li Lian. My passion for writing flourished in the recent couple of years, evident in the many articles I pen for the local newspaper, school newsletter and newsmagazine.
“A Desert Ballad” sprang to life from a wondrous dream of mine——I had a sudden vision of a beautiful maiden swirling in the midst of a fiercely brewing sandstorm. This vision became a key scene in my story, a story which clinched second place in the Malaysia Young Author Award 2021, and was eventually shortlisted for the Asia Young Author Award 2021. I highly encourage all students to participate in the Young Author Award Scheme, as the results reaped is certainly gratifying.
