The Young Author Scheme, if I had to put it all together in one word, would be ‘awesome’. I learnt so much from the experience, not only about tips on writing but also various ways of doing so — perspectives, I mean. Being one of the only two secondary school students then, I was honestly amazed at how young someone could be yet create such amazing work. I thoroughly enjoyed the awesome class and if another chance came by for me to participate again, sign me up.
As for writing in general, I have really always had an active imagination and like to make stuff up. For example, a documentary on Leonardo Da Vinci would be playing and I would be oh so intrigued by his life story, after which I would think of how I would feel in his shoes. I would then think about a certain type of character in his shoes and make a few changes to the original factual story. Suddenly, I would just be overflowing with ideas I want to make happen. Writing is an outlet, a hobby, and potentially something I want to make my career. Unless I lose all ability to write, I will not put the pen down.
