Catherine says Hello

Dear Parents, Teachers and Valued Partners in Education
,

First month into our new home and it feels like we have been here all along. Settling in amongst our quaint neighbours, we have been lucky in getting new opportunities with our partners, and at the same time exploring different options and avenues for our magazine, books and Young Authors. September is the month of pre-exam jitters, but it will soon make way for October with its Lovely Children’s Day beginning. Hang in there and read on to find out about what we have been upto, to make your writing/reading journey an enriching experience every step of the way!

Countdown to Final Young Author Award & DigiTale Award entries!

September is coming to a close in a week, and that is all the time you have to submit your entries for our year-end YAA & DTA awards! If you have seen your child poring over sheets and sheets of paper, writing their tiny hearts out or noticed long hours spend plink-plonking on the keyboard behind a screen, you may have a Young Author on your hands! Encourage them and enter their stories in this region-wide annual competition! Closing date is 30th Sept 2011.

Go here and enter your stories or call 6336 8986 for more information!

October - December Holiday Workshops!

Attention Parents of primary school students!

Janus Education is offering programmes, to improve composition and communication skills. All you need to do is join our intensive edu-taining camps:

Aspiring Writers & Illustrators Scheme - This highly interactive programme is an intensive introduction to composition writing. Kids learn to illustrate their story from a professional artist.

Young Author Scheme - This Gifted-Education Programme (GEP) mentors children to write a 3,000-word story worthy for publication. Best stories are entered into a regional writing competition for under 18s.

Creative Composition Camp - Come, Create and Compose! This course is especially for Primary 4-6 students to equip them with serious composition skill-sets that would send their composition scores soaring.

Creative Communication Camp – Come, Craft, Connect! This course is especially designed for lower primary students. This course would cover presentation and people skills, develop confidence and help in oral examinations.

In all, these fun courses are not just relevant, but timeless as well, in their ability to equip your children with skills that go beyond the academia.

To check for dates of the classes click here or call 6336 8985 for further information.
